How VSI Telesurgery works

The surgeon uses VSI surgery during the operation. If questions arise, he can call a colleague or a specialist using the VSI telesurgery function to clarify questions, for example about the exact diagnosis or the further course of the procedure and about further measures caused by complications, anatomical surprises, unforeseeable events, etc.

The called colleague accepts the call on a laptop and receives the exact field of view of the surgeon, including all active VSI surgery functions. The visual display allows the colleague to give the surgeon optimal advice without being live on site. On the contrary, he no longer has to bend over the surgical site to see exactly what the surgeon sees.

The call is made via voice control. This keeps the surgeon’s hands with the patient. At the same time, the surgeon can continue the operation and be accompanied by the called specialist for as long as necessary. If required, it can be set up so that several specialists can join in.

VSI Telesurgery simplifies the transfer of knowledge between colleagues and individual departments. This promotes precise diagnostics, increases the safety of surgical procedures, relieves senior physicians through spatial independence and supports the training and further education of physicians.

Automated and intuitive

VSI Telesurgery requires nothing more than the mixed reality glasses HoloLens from Microsoft and the Virtual Surgery Intelligence (VSI) itself. All functions are automated, the processes integrated and the operation intuitive.

Procedure: We install the VSI in your clinic, locally and securely. All CT and MRI images can be uploaded from the computer or laptop with one click onto the corresponding glasses using the “VSI Manager” desktop application. All data remains in your clinic. The colleague or specialist is called by the VSI Manager and automatically connected to the corresponding physician.


About VSI Telesurgery

VSI Telesurgery enables intraoperative telecommunication or in other words, a telemedical (and also interdisciplinary) exchange in operative medicine. The telesurgical development of the VSI aims to create a new medical standard and to optimize diagnoses and therapies, to make surgical procedures more efficient and precise, to increase the health care of patients and to facilitate the daily work of clinic staff.

With VSI Telesurgery, doctors can contact colleagues, specialists and other experts to exchange information. The big advantage: The hands of the caller remain free and the contact person sees exactly the same thing as the caller.
